The Purple School curriculum covers 31 categories of child-centered learning, each with 150 items to learn. After a Purple School student has learned the first 25 items in each category, he or she can ask to test for a Purple School red wristand (a student will earn an orange wristband for being able to say 26-50 in the target language, yellow for 51-75, green for 76-100, blue for 101-125, and purple for 126-150!). The Purple School's introductory classes focus on the categories in bold below. Although items from other categories will be part of every class, the active learning goals for an introductory class are items #1-#10 in each of the bolded categories.
