Lorena
Lorena was born and raised in Mexicali, Baja California, Mexico. Spanish was her first language! As a little girl, she always dreamed of being able to speak and understand English. But it wasn't until she was older that English become a reality. She moved to the USA, and enrolled at the local community college, in Phoenix, AZ. English as a second language classes. She earned her ESL Diploma with hard work and dedication. She truly believes and understands the mission of The Purple School. "If my parents had known how easy it would have been for me to learn English when I was young and curious about the language, I truly believe I would have been fluent at an earlier age!" After graduating from the ESL program, she earned her diploma. She was blessed with a baby boy (Isaac) in 2004 and the following year started a day-care so she could stay home with him. She incorporated Spanish, teaching nouns, singing songs, and playing the games of her childhood. She also loves design and being creative, so in addition to her teaching, she has a design company, Whimsical Designs! During the holiday, she will be putting her creative skills to work!
